Nigerian music superstars Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, and Tems have garnered prestigious nominations for the 2025 NAACP Image Awards, underscoring their remarkable contributions to the global music scene.
The NAACP Image Awards, now in its 56th year, celebrates excellence by people of color across various industries, including music, film, and television. This year’s ceremony, themed “Our Stories, Our Culture, Our Excellence,” will take place on February 22 at the Pasadena Civic Center, California.
Nigerian Artists Shine in Key Categories
- Burna Boy and Usher received a nomination for “Outstanding Duo, Group, or Collaboration (Contemporary)” with their soulful track, Coming Home.
- Davido, alongside Chris Brown, earned a nod in the “Outstanding International Song” category for their electrifying collaboration, Hmmm.
- Wizkid secured two nominations, including a spot in the “Best International Song” category for his hit Piece of My Heart, featuring Brent Faiyaz.
- Tems was recognized for her powerful single Love Me Jeje from her debut album Born in the Wild.
Spotlighting African Excellence
