Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has once again made history, equaling Burna Boy’s record as the Nigerian artist with the most charting albums on the prestigious Billboard 200.
The milestone was achieved after Wizkid’s latest album, Morayo, debuted at number 98, selling an impressive 13,000 units in its first week. This marks Wizkid’s fourth entry on the Billboard 200, tying him with Burna Boy, who achieved the same feat earlier.
Music tracking platform Chart Data confirmed the achievement via X (formerly Twitter), stating: “Wizkid ties Burna Boy as the Nigerian artist with the most charting albums in Billboard 200 history (4 each).”
Beyond its Billboard 200 debut, Morayo also secured the number 4 spot on the Billboard World Albums chart, further solidifying Wizkid’s global impact.
As the rivalry heats up, Davido is poised to join the record-setting duo. With three albums already on the Billboard 200, his upcoming fifth studio album, 5IVE, set for release in 2025, could place him in the same league.
