Afrobeats superstar Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has added another milestone to his illustrious career. The Nigerian singer became the first African artiste to perform at the prestigious British Fashion Awards, held at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall on Monday.
Wizkid closed the 2024 ceremony with a mesmerizing rendition of his hit track Troubled Mind, leaving the star-studded audience in awe. His performance capped off an evening that celebrated fashion’s finest, blending high couture with the infectious rhythms of Afrobeats.
The British Fashion Awards drew some of the biggest names from the entertainment and fashion worlds, including A$AP Rocky, Rihanna, Dave Chappelle, and fellow Nigerian star Tems.
Wizkid’s presence and performance at the event underscore the growing influence of Afrobeats on global culture, particularly in spaces traditionally dominated by Western artists.
