Nigerian music icon Timaya has shared candid insights into his decision to remain unmarried despite his career success.
In a recent interview with Naija FM, the Cold Outside crooner revealed that marriage has never been a priority for him, though he hasn’t completely ruled it out.

Timaya explained that his reluctance stems from a preference for freedom and a dislike for stress in relationships.
“I’ve never been a married guy right from time, but it can change because marriage dey craze? I just look at it like if I marry today, would I be able to get out? In all my previous relationships, I was the one who got out because I don’t like stress,” he said.
The singer emphasized the importance of open communication in relationships, stating that honesty is a cornerstone for him:
“If you have a problem with me, let’s talk about it because I don’t like going to bed thinking about things. I go die o. I don’t like anything to bother me at all.”
Timaya, a proud father of several children from different relationships, shared that his kids live with their mothers but maintain a close bond with him.
“Being a father can be stressful, but it’s also enjoyable. My children often come to stay with me for extended periods,” he explained.
Despite not being romantically involved with their mothers, Timaya described their relationships as respectful and familial.
