Popular social media commentator Martins Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has revealed a devastating financial breach affecting his NGO, the Martins Vincent Osei Initiative.
In an emotional Instagram video on Friday, Otse disclosed that hackers stole over ₦180 million from the organization’s account, leaving him deeply shaken.

“I’ve not been myself these past few days,” Otse admitted. “Somebody hacked into the NGO website, and ₦180 million is missing. Thankfully, we’ve tracked the person, and one suspect has been arrested.”
He further explained that ₦160 million had been diverted to an unknown account, while ₦20 million remains frozen in the account, now placed on Post No Debit (PND). “We’re heading to Jos to recover the money,” Otse added, assuring followers that recovery efforts were underway.
To prevent further breaches, the NGO’s app has been temporarily shut down for maintenance, and Otse promised regular updates as investigations continue.
The incident comes shortly after the NGO made headlines in October for its rapid success. Within hours of its launch, the initiative raised over ₦35 million in donations, including a ₦100 million contribution from music mogul Don Jazzy.
