Nigerian music icon Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has sparked a new controversy after accusing his twin brother, Peter Okoye (Mr P), of song theft. Following their recent split, Mr P released a track titled "Winning," which has reportedly stirred up accusations of creative theft.
In an explosive Instagram post, Rudeboy claimed he originally wrote and recorded "Winning" with a producer, only to have it allegedly taken and recorded by Mr P, "word for word." Expressing frustration, Rudeboy questioned why his song, meant for his own album release in June next year, was re-recorded by his brother.
“Now am I supposed to release another version?” he wrote, adding that the "manipulation" of his work by their shared producer would be addressed later.
In an Instagram story post, Rudeboy issued a warning to the management team, vowing to release the original versions of any song he finds repurposed without his consent. He wrote, “Music is not that hard! Let me catch anyone singing my song again, I’ll drop the original version myself!”
The ongoing saga has fueled fresh speculation among fans about the reasons behind the Okoye brothers’ ongoing creative conflicts.
