Tobi Bakre was born in Ogun State, Nigeria, into a prominent family with deep roots in Awa-Ijebu Kingdom, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State. He is the second son of Chief Olufemi Bakre, who holds the title of Otunba Bobaselu of Awa-Ijebu Kingdom and serves as the Managing Director and CEO of Parallex Bank. Growing up in a close-knit family, Tobi had three siblings, including his older brother Femi Bakre, the CEO of Kraks TV, a leading Nigerian entertainment platform.

Following in his father’s academic footsteps, Tobi attended the University of Lagos, where he graduated with a Second Class Honours Upper Division in Banking and Finance, the same course his father studied. Despite pursuing a degree in finance, Tobi would later pivot to entertainment—a move that catapulted him to national fame.
