Social media firebrand Martins Ortse, famously known as VeryDarkMan, has unleashed a scathing critique of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, branding him “incompetent” and a “clown.”
In an explosive Instagram post on Monday, VeryDarkMan called out Olukoyede’s handling of ex-Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello, who was declared wanted by the EFCC in April for alleged N80.2 billion money laundering. Despite being on the Commission’s wanted list, Bello reportedly presented himself to the EFCC, only to be released without arraignment.
Blasting the EFCC for its inaction, VeryDarkMan said: “Ola Olukoyede is a symbol of incompetence, mediocrity, and I call him a clown. Since April, EFCC posted that Yahaya Bello was wanted, yet nothing has been done.”
The critic pointed out the stark contrast between the EFCC’s aggressive pursuit of “young boys” and its perceived leniency toward high-profile figures like Bello: “EFCC has arraigned over 100 small-time offenders since April, yet they can’t bring one man with N80.2bn allegations to justice. The only grace you have is that the youths are distracted.”
The EFCC had charged Bello with a massive corruption case, but its decision to release him without significant developments has raised questions about accountability and selective justice.
Social media users have rallied around VeryDarkMan’s fiery statements, with hashtags like #EFCCDoYourJob trending online.
