Nigerian music sensation Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has made history by breaking the record for the biggest streaming day on Spotify Nigeria. His latest single, ‘Piece of My Heart’, featuring American R&B star Brent Faiyaz, became the first song to hit over 1 million streams on the platform in a single day, recording 1.016 million streams.
This impressive achievement makes Nigeria the 22nd country to see a song receive over 1 million streams on its Spotify chart in a single day. Internationally, ‘Piece of My Heart’ also debuted at No. 90 on the Global Spotify Chart, racking up 1.7 million streams globally, with a total of 2.27 million streams worldwide on its first day.
The song has earned the biggest streaming debut for an African artist on Spotify, marking yet another milestone for Wizkid, whose impact continues to reshape the global music landscape. Fans are already hailing the track as one of the biggest releases of the year.
