Nigerian rapper Speed Darlington has spoken out about his recent drop in online activity, revealing that his absence has nothing to do with a change in character, but rather the lack of a functional phone following his recent arrest.
In a candid video, the controversial artist, known for his larger-than-life persona, clarified that he remains as bold and unapologetic as ever, dismissing any notion that his quietness was due to humility.

Darlington, who was arrested for four days in Nigeria, expressed frustration at being held without access to family or legal counsel, claiming his rights were violated. He used the opportunity to point out that this wasn’t his first brush with the law, citing 17 previous arrests in the U.S. and asserting that these experiences only made him stronger.
Addressing his ongoing feud with fellow Afrobeat star Burna Boy, Speed Darlington hinted that Burna Boy may have been behind his arrest but said he had since tried to make peace between them. The rapper reassured his fans that he is still the same “Scorpion King,” known for trending online and rejecting million-naira offers.
Speed Darlington left no doubt that his reduced online presence is temporary, promising that he will be back to his usual self once he gets a proper phone, maintaining that his fiery persona remains unchanged.
