In a recent interview with BET Africa, the "Shake Body" crooner shared his thoughts on the weight of being the last surviving member of his family’s bloodline following his mother’s death.
Reflecting on his family’s lineage, Skales explained, "Right now, I really regret not having baby mamas because I am the only person in my family’s bloodline that is alive right now. So, the whole bloodline relies on me to produce right now. When my mother died was when I realised that there is not much of my bloodline left."
The singer, who tragically lost his mother in October 2022, admitted that her passing made him more conscious of his legacy and the responsibility to continue his family’s lineage.
Skales married Precious Njeng-Njeng in May 2021, and the couple welcomed their first child in March 2023, but his recent reflections reveal a deeper personal struggle with the concept of legacy and lineage.
The candid confession has stirred mixed reactions online, with fans sharing their thoughts on the pressure of family legacy and the singer’s vulnerability in discussing such a personal topic.
