Nigerian actress and filmmaker Omoni Oboli has opened up about a shocking experience in her acting career, revealing that she lost a movie role after refusing to kiss a film director during an audition.
In her recent interview with comedian AY on the Glasshouse Show, Omoni shared that the incident occurred when she returned to Nigeria after a break to raise her children abroad.
The actress recounted how the director made an unexpected and inappropriate request during the audition, asking her to kiss him, allegedly to "see" her performance abilities.

Omoni explained: "One director asked me to kiss him at an audition, and I couldn’t understand why he would do that. So I was like ‘is this an audition?’ and he was like ‘yeah, I just want to see.’ And I said ‘sorry, I can’t do it because I didn’t see any reason I would be kissing you, the director, when we are not on set."
As a result of her refusal, Omoni disclosed that she didn't get the role she had travelled for, forcing her to return without being part of the project.
The actress' revelation has sparked conversations about unprofessionalism and inappropriate behavior in the Nigerian film industry, with many commending her for standing her ground despite the consequences.
