The actress, through her legal team, P.D. Pius & Associates, has demanded N30 billion in damages, accusing Rollas of defamation and tarnishing her reputation.
Abubakar’s suspension was announced on social media by Rollas, who claimed her involvement in "slandering Nollywood" led to the decision. However, the actress has strongly refuted these allegations, stating that she was never given an opportunity to respond to the claims or contacted before the announcement.
In a letter dated October 20, 2024, her legal representatives emphasized that the public suspension caused emotional distress, particularly during a sensitive period as she recovers from long-term health issues.
The solicitors also demanded the immediate removal of the defamatory publication from Rollas’ Instagram page, along with an unreserved public apology.
The letter concluded with a stern warning: "Unless these demands are met in 7 days, we are instructed by our client to pursue appropriate legal action."
This escalating legal battle has sparked significant interest, with fans and colleagues in Nollywood watching closely to see how the situation unfolds.
