Nollywood actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo’s epic film Jagun Jagun has secured an impressive seven nominations at the prestigious 2024 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).
The nominations were unveiled during a ceremony held in Lagos on Wednesday, attended by notable figures from the African film industry, members of the AMAA jury, and the Africa Film Academy (AFA) board.

Jagun Jagun received nominations in several key categories of the 20th edition of the awards, including:
- Best Actor in a Supporting Role
- Achievement in Production Design
- Achievement in Costume Design
- Achievement in Makeup
- Achievement in Visual Effects
- The Ousmane Sembene Award for Best Film in an African Language
- NFVCB Award for Best Nigerian Film
Femi Adebayo, thrilled by the film’s recognition, took to Instagram to share the exciting news with his fans and team. “Hey guys, we have done it again! Delighted to announce that Jagun Jagun clinched seven nominations at the 2024 AMAA AWARDS nominee announcement yesterday,” he wrote.
The film’s recognition has further solidified Jagun Jagun as one of the standout Nigerian films of the year, celebrated for its production quality and its authentic representation of African culture and storytelling.
The event was graced by several prominent personalities, including Shaibu Husseini, the Director General of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), George and Chinyere Anyiam-Osigwe, Kennedy Anyiam-Osigwe, and actors such as Segun Arinze, Nobert Young, and Alex O, among others.
As anticipation builds for the AMAA ceremony, Jagun Jagun continues to receive praise for its cinematic achievements, positioning itself as a strong contender in the upcoming awards.
