Nigerian comedian Lasisi Elenu has ignited conversations on social media after humorously expressing his longing for former President Muhammadu Buhari amidst the current economic difficulties in the country.
In a voice note shared via Instagram on Wednesday, Lasisi, whose real name is Nosa Afolabi, sent a heartfelt message to Buhari, almost in tears as he confessed missing the former president. Known for his satirical takes on societal issues, Lasisi’s comments struck a chord with many Nigerians.
In the recording, he said: "I’m not sending you this message on behalf of anyone. I think I owe it to myself and my family. I never thought I would be here doing this at this time. First, I don’t even know how to say this. I miss you. God help me na die I dey."
Buhari left office in May 2023, but many believe the country’s economic struggles have worsened since his departure. Lasisi’s post has sparked mixed reactions, with some fans agreeing that Buhari’s administration brought a semblance of order, while others reminded followers of the hardships faced during his tenure.
