Bobrisky Responds to Femi Falana and Falz’s 12-Hour Ultimatum Over Defamation

Controversial crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has responded to the 12-hour ultimatum issued by human rights lawyer Femi Falana and his son, singer Falz.

The ultimatum, delivered in a cease-and-desist letter on October 16, 2024, demanded that Bobrisky retract alleged defamatory claims made in an audio recording leaked by social media critic, VeryDarkMan (VDM).

In a series of Instagram story posts on Wednesday night, Bobrisky denied defaming the Falanas and rejected their demand for a retraction or public apology. He insisted that he had no involvement in the defamatory statements attributed to him.

"In reply to the two letters in circulation from the law firm of the Falanas, I like to state for the record that I, Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju aka Bobrisky, did not publish any defamatory statements concerning the learned SAN, Falana, and his son Falz. I stand by my express denial and advise whoever has been defamed to hold the publisher of the defamatory content responsible," Bobrisky stated.

This comes shortly after a Lagos State High Court ordered VeryDarkMan to delete defamatory videos and comments targeting the Falanas within 21 days. The controversy began in September 2024 when VDM leaked audio recordings in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed that Falz had attempted to help him secure a presidential pardon during his imprisonment.

The allegations, which have fueled public speculation, include claims of a N15 million bribe paid to officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to drop money laundering charges against Bobrisky, as well as accusations of bribery involving the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) to secure VIP treatment for Bobrisky while in custody.

Bobrisky was arrested earlier this year for money laundering and Naira mutilation by the EFCC, with a Federal High Court later dismissing the money laundering charges but sentencing him to six months in prison for Naira mutilation.

The ongoing feud has captivated public attention, as many await the Falanas’ next steps following Bobrisky's refusal to comply with the ultimatum.
