Spotify Celebrates Wizkid’s "Ojuelegba" on Its 10th Anniversary, Over 55 Million Streams Recorded

Global streaming giant Spotify has marked the 10th anniversary of Wizkid’s iconic hit, "Ojuelegba," recognizing its monumental impact on Afrobeats and the global music scene. 

In a statement released on Tuesday by Phiona Okumu, Spotify’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, it was revealed that "Ojuelegba" has garnered over 55 million streams since its release in 2014.

“Today marks the 10th anniversary of Wizkid’s groundbreaking single, “Ojuelegba,” a song that helped define the global rise of Afrobeats and continues to resonate with millions of listeners across the world,” Okumu stated.

The song’s top streaming regions include the United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands, France, and Nigeria, further solidifying Wizkid’s status as one of Africa’s most influential artists.

"Ojuelegba’s journey reflects the global growth of Afrobeats and its increasing presence on the world stage," Okumu added.

As the song celebrates its milestone anniversary, its legacy remains intact as one of the most iconic Afrobeats tracks, showcasing the enduring power of African music on a global scale.
