Rema Donates N105 Million to Christ Embassy Church, Benin City in Heartfelt Gesture of Gratitude

Nigerian international music sensation, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has made headlines with a generous donation of N105 million to the Christ Embassy Church in Benin City, Edo State.

The star, who was in the state for the Edo@33 celebration, made this donation as a heartfelt gesture to the church that played a pivotal role in his family’s life during a difficult period in his childhood.

Rema, who participated in the groundbreaking ceremony of the Edo Dome and performed at a musical concert at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, visited the Edo Regional Headquarters of the church to offer his thanks and support.

The church, located on Erediauwa Street off Ekenwa Road, had supported Rema’s family after the tragic loss of his father when he was just eight years old.

In an emotional speech during a thanksgiving service, Rema recounted how the church, led by Pastors Joy and Thomas, opened a shop for his mother, which became the family's lifeline during those challenging times.

He expressed his gratitude, stating, "I am not here to give myself any form of accolades or glory but to give to God the glory. When I was eight years old, we felt very lost and abandoned after losing my dad. All that we had were taken from us, and we felt alone."

As a token of appreciation, Rema pledged N40 million for the infrastructural development of the church, N20 million for the Rhapsody of Realities publication, and N25 million specifically for the teen church, where he had once been a member. He also set aside N20 million to support widows in the congregation.

Rema's act of generosity has been widely praised, highlighting his deep connection to his roots and his commitment to giving back to those who have supported him throughout his journey.
