In a midnight video posted on Monday, Portable expressed remorse, attributing his behavior to past traumas. The singer revealed that he initially thought the preacher posed a spiritual threat to him, leading to the assault. He begged for forgiveness, explaining that he misunderstood the situation.
"My fans, community issues are different from that of the street. May God forgive me. I didn’t know he was a genuine man of God. If I knew, I wouldn’t have slapped him," Portable said. He further added, "I’m also a child of God. I’m human, I’m not perfect. I am an orphan. They have harmed my sister through this same strategy."
Despite his plea for forgiveness, the incident has continued to generate mixed reactions, with many urging the singer to learn from the situation.
