Fireboy DML Praises Wande Coal, Credits Him as Major Inspiration Behind His Music Career

Nigerian singer Fireboy DML has expressed deep admiration for veteran artist Wande Coal, crediting him for having a profound impact on his music career. 

In a recent episode of the Is This Seat Taken podcast, the Peru crooner shared that meeting Wande Coal was a "dream come true" and revealed that he still "becomes a child" whenever the legendary singer is around. 

Reflecting on the first time they met, Fireboy described the moment as "surreal" and referred to Wande Coal as a major inspiration. "He is a legend, and meeting him was a blessing," he added.

Fireboy also honored Wande Coal on his latest album Adedamola with a special track titled Wande’s Song, a heartfelt tribute to the music icon who inspired him to pursue his own career.

Fans have praised Fireboy for recognizing his influences and paying homage to one of Afrobeats' greats.
