Critiano Ronaldo, the captain of Portugal, has expressed his heartfelt appreciation for his longtime teammate Pepe, who recently announced his retirement from football.
Pepe, who is 41 years old, played his final match at Euro 2024, where Portugal suffered a defeat to France in the quarter-finals after a penalty shootout.
“There are not enough words to express how much you mean to me, friend,” Ronaldo wrote on his X handle.
“We won everything there was to win on the field, but the greatest achievement is the friendship and respect I have for you. You are unique, my brother. Thank you so much.”
