Nigerian gospel singer Ajayi Aduke Morounkola, popularly known as Aduke Gold, has passed away.
The sad news was announced by her colleague, Esther Igbekele, on Tuesday morning via her Facebook page. In her post, Igbekele wrote, "A general has fallen. ADUKE GOLD #rip," expressing the deep loss felt by the gospel music community.

The cause of Aduke Gold's death has not been confirmed.
Aduke Gold grew up in the Ogba and Badagry areas of Lagos and was the 11th child of her late parents. She began her music career professionally in 2004 and quickly gained recognition for her talent.
She rose to fame with a memorable live performance at the first remembrance of the late gospel artiste, Baba Are. One of her most popular tracks, Nitori Ogo, released in 2021, further solidified her place in the gospel music scene.

In addition to her musical achievements, Aduke Gold was well-educated, holding a degree in History and International Relations from Lagos State University and a higher degree in Child Psychology from the UK.
