Nigerian singer Ololade Ahmed, popularly known as Asake, has made history by becoming the first African musician to top the global Spotify debut chart. This remarkable achievement comes after the release of his third studio album, Lungu Boy, which quickly soared to number one on the chart.

Lungu Boy, a 15-track album featuring collaborations with major artists like Wizkid, Travis Scott, Stormzy, Central Cee, and Ludmilla, shattered records by garnering 9.42 million streams on the Global Spotify Chart on its first day.

This feat marks the biggest first-day streams for an African album on the platform, solidifying Asake's place as a leading force in the global music scene.

One of the album's standout tracks, MMS featuring Wizkid, also broke records in Nigeria, achieving 870,000 streams on Spotify Nigeria on its first day, the highest ever for a single track in the country.

Asake's success with Lungu Boy not only highlights his immense talent but also underscores the growing global influence of African music.
