Nigerian singer Ololade Ahmed, popularly known as Asake, has made history by becoming the first African musician to top the global Spotify debut chart. This remarkable achievement comes after the release of his third studio album, Lungu Boy, which quickly soared to number one on the chart.
Lungu Boy, a 15-track album featuring collaborations with major artists like Wizkid, Travis Scott, Stormzy, Central Cee, and Ludmilla, shattered records by garnering 9.42 million streams on the Global Spotify Chart on its first day.
This feat marks the biggest first-day streams for an African album on the platform, solidifying Asake's place as a leading force in the global music scene.
