The Reggae Sumfest stage in St. James lit up with a dazzling performance by multi-Grammy Award winner Lauryn Hill and her son, YG Marley, who delivered a show that celebrated both their musical prowess and the rich heritage of Brand Jamaica.

YG Marley opened the set with his original songs "Meant to Be" and "Survival," setting an energetic pace for the evening. His dynamic performance paved the way for a special appearance by dancehall entertainer Jahshii, who thrilled the crowd with his hit song "Born Fighter."

However, the audience truly erupted when Lauryn Hill herself took center stage alongside her sons. Hill delivered powerful renditions of her biggest hits, including "Ex-Factor," "Ready or Not," "Killing Me Softly," and "Fu-Gee-La." The crowd couldn't get enough of the iconic singer, and the feeling was mutual as Hill expressed her deep connection with the audience.

Hill, known for her time with the hip-hop/rap trio the Fugees and her acclaimed solo album "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill," shared a special moment, revealing that one of her hits, "Killing Me Softly," was written in Jamaica several years ago.

The night reached its peak when the Marleys and Hill closed out the set with YG Marley's biggest hit yet, "Praise Jah in the Moonlight," which features a sample from his legendary grandfather, Bob Marley. The performance included an impromptu acapella rendition of "Turn Your Lights Down Low," leaving the audience in awe.

Reggae Sumfest, celebrating its 31st anniversary this year, once again proved why it remains a cornerstone of the entertainment scene. The unforgettable performance by Lauryn Hill and her family underscored the festival's enduring legacy and the timeless appeal of reggae music.
