Popular Nigerian singer Yemi Alade, known for her hit song ‘Johnny,’ has opened up about how she manages to stay clear of controversies in the entertainment industry. Speaking at the listening party for her new album, Rebel Queen, in Lagos, Alade shared her approach to handling negative criticisms and maintaining her peace.
The award-winning artist emphasized the importance of not letting people's opinions affect her. “I don’t think about it [negative criticisms] too much. I’m just living my life because it’s the only one I have,” she said.
Alade explained that her strategy for dealing with negativity is straightforward: she simply ignores it. “Once I see or hear anything that doesn’t resonate with me, I look the other way and keep it moving. Because everybody is entitled to their opinions,” she added.
Her approach highlights a mindset focused on positivity and self-preservation, enabling her to navigate the often tumultuous waters of the entertainment industry without getting entangled in its dramas.
