During the recent Wemix Day event, the South Korean gaming company Wemade unveiled several significant updates to its Wemix platform, including the launch of Wemix Pay, a new payment system, and the PLAY token, a gaming currency.
Additionally, Wemade announced a strategic shift towards fewer high-quality games, with upcoming titles such as Legend of Ymir and Project M.
The company also plans to launch Wepublic, a voting and donation system, in 2025 to support charitable organizations through community engagement.
The PLAY token will be tied to actual in-game revenue and will be issued only when users interact with Wemix Pay. It will be required for purchasing certain items in games like Night Crows. To prevent inflation, PLAY tokens will be burned after use. Users can earn PLAY tokens along with Prime Points through Wemix Pay.
