Embattled American music mogul Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, has been implicated in the 1996 murder of legendary rapper Tupac Shakur. According to new court documents reported by the U.S. Sun, the Bad Boy Records boss is accused of paying $1 million to suspect Duane “Keefe D” Davis for Shakur’s assassination. Davis was arrested for the murder last year.

The court papers, filed on Thursday (July 18), mention Diddy 77 times, using various pseudonyms such as Puffy, Puff Daddy, Puff, and his legal name, Sean Combs. The documents reveal that Davis allegedly testified to Diddy’s involvement in the plot to kill Tupac.

In one transcript, police questioned Davis about Combs' role in the murder. Davis replied, “Yeah, I think he did.” He claimed that Diddy had expressed a willingness to pay a substantial amount for the death of Suge Knight, the co-founder of Death Row Records, and Tupac Shakur, who had released a diss track targeting him. Davis stated that Diddy, feeling threatened by Knight, conveyed his desperation to a group of about 45 people.

“Defendant [Keefe] has asserted publicly that he only told on himself and wasn’t trying to provide evidence against anyone else in his conversations with police. However, this statement belies this claim, as he suggested that Sean Combs paid Eric Von Martin a million dollars for the killings,” the documents read in part.

The prosecution filed these documents to oppose Davis’ latest bail request, which was previously rejected last month over concerns about the source of the $112,500 bail bond.

It remains unclear whether Diddy will be subpoenaed or indicted as part of this case. The implications of these accusations are significant, potentially reopening one of the most infamous unsolved cases in hip-hop history. As the legal proceedings continue, the music industry and fans worldwide await further developments in this decades-old mystery.
