Following the passing of legendary singer and activist Onyeka Onwenu on July 30, 2024, her sons, Abraham and Tijani Ogunlende, have shared details about her final moments.

In a heartfelt statement, they revealed that Onwenu was rushed to Reddington Hospital in Lagos after collapsing during her last performance at Mrs. Stella Okoli's birthday party. Despite the best efforts of the medical staff, the beloved singer could not be saved.

The Ogunlende brothers expressed their profound gratitude to all those who supported their mother in her final hours.
