Famous singers Ayra Starr and Tems have been announced as the most streamed Nigerian artists on Spotify for the first half of 2024. The global music streaming platform released a list of Nigeria’s top 30 tracks, highlighting the significant impact of these artists.
Ayra Starr's dominance is underscored by her collaboration with Rauw Alejandro on the track "Santa," which topped the list. She also secured the second position with her solo hit "Comma." Tems followed closely in third place with her popular track "Love Me Jeje."
Other notable mentions include Luciano and Omah Lay’s "Another Vibe," which came fourth, and Burna Boy and Savage’s "Metro Boomin Just Like Me," which secured the fifth spot. Tyla and Tems’s "No.1" rounded out the top six.
Phiona Okumu, Spotify's Head of Music Sub-Saharan Africa, explained during a press conference in Lagos that the list recognized the most listened-to Nigerian tracks from outside the country between January 1 and June 30, 2024.
This recognition highlights the global appeal and influence of Nigerian music and its artists, showcasing their ability to resonate with audiences worldwide.
