Ukraine eliminated from Euro 2024 following goalless draw against Belgium.

 

Ukraine's hopes of advancing in Euro 2024 were dashed after a goalless draw with Belgium in their final group stage match. 

Despite putting up a strong fight, Ukraine was unable to secure the victory they needed to progress to the knockout stages of the tournament.

Belgium, on the other hand, managed to secure their spot in the last 16 with the draw, finishing second in Group E behind Romania. Romania's higher goal-scoring record in the group ultimately saw them clinch the top spot, leaving Belgium to settle for second place.

In a dramatic turn of events, Slovakia also managed to advance to the knockout stages as one of the four best third-placed teams, thanks to their 1-1 draw with Romania. This result meant that Ukraine was the unfortunate team to miss out on a spot in the last 16, despite finishing level on points with the other teams in the group.

Overall, it was a closely contested group stage in Euro 2024, with Belgium, Romania, and Slovakia all managing to secure their spots in the knockout stages. Ukraine, however, will have to regroup and refocus as they head home from the tournament, disappointed but proud of their efforts on the pitch.
