Nigerian singer Simisola Kosoko, popularly known as Simi, has recently shared her struggles with imposter syndrome and the journey of rediscovery that has shaped her upcoming album, "Lost And Found."

Simi, a mother of one, revealed that while she had always enjoyed a deep and unwavering understanding of herself, recent years brought the discomfort of feeling lost and disconnected. She described this experience as feeling like a stranger to herself.

Taking to her X handle on Tuesday, Simi wrote: "For most of my life, I have enjoyed the privilege of knowing myself deeply, unwaveringly, truly. In more recent years, I have also endured the discomfort of losing myself. Sometimes, to make room for something else that I needed to be – other times, because I could not, for the life of me, find my way. I felt like a stranger to myself. This version of me has been the hardest one to look at in the mirror."

Simi explained that creating her new album "Lost And Found" was instrumental in helping her rediscover parts of herself she feared were lost forever. She emphasized that the process of self-discovery is ongoing and that there's always more to find if one is willing to look.

"Making this album is a symbol of finding parts of myself again that I hoped I hadn’t lost permanently. I don’t believe that we ever stop finding ourselves. If you’re willing to look, there’s always more. This is a tribute to the things we continue to find and rediscover," she added.

The album, she noted, is about reclaiming her "chemistry with music, melody, and love stories." Simi's candid revelation has resonated with many fans, offering a powerful message about resilience, self-discovery, and the transformative power of music.
