Ruger Claps Back at Fan's Jab Over Post-Label Music Career

Nigerian singer Ruger, who recently parted ways with his former record label, Jonzing World, has delivered a sharp response to a fan's criticism about his music career after the split.

The fan, efekoga, tweeted on Friday, June 7, 2024, "No Hit since you left jonzing," insinuating that Ruger, born Michael Olayinka Adebayo, has failed to release any successful songs since his departure from the label.

Ruger wasted no time in firing back with a pointed retort, "no hit for Jonzing since I left Jonzing," suggesting that the label itself has not achieved any notable success since his exit. This exchange marks the latest in a series of public digs aimed at Jonzing World, which Ruger has accused of exploiting him and misusing his funds to support new artists.

The split between Ruger and Jonzing World, led by D'Prince, was officially announced on February 6, 2024. Since then, a public feud has unfolded, with Ruger openly expressing his dissatisfaction with the terms of his contract and the treatment he received while at the label.
