Nollywood actress Ruby Ojiakor has finally addressed the swirling rumors that she was in an extramarital relationship with the late actor Junior Pope. The rumors gained traction after Ruby's persistent calls for justice for Junior Pope, who tragically died in a boat accident while on set.
Speculation was further fueled when Junior Pope’s wife, Jennifer, unfollowed Ruby on Instagram shortly after the actor’s burial, leading many to believe there was more to their relationship.
In a video message shared via her Instagram page, Ruby categorically denied any romantic involvement with Junior Pope. She emphasized that their relationship was purely platonic and based on mutual respect and friendship.
“Junior Pope was never my boyfriend. There’s no intimacy between myself and Junior Pope. We never dated. Junior Pope was never my intimate friend. He was just my friend. He was more than a friend. He was my big brother,” Ruby clarified.
Ruby also addressed rumors suggesting that Junior Pope was the father of her child, Royalty. She firmly dismissed these claims, expressing her disbelief at the assumptions being made.
“I also see a lot of posts, some persons will just screenshot and send to me and say, ‘Look at what they’re saying, they said he [Junior Pope] is Royalty’s father.’ I just looked at it and I laughed. How can people reason this way? Please and please, Junior Pope is not Royalty’s father. He’s not my daughter’s father. I just want to clarify this,” she stated.
Ruby’s heartfelt message aimed to put an end to the baseless rumors and bring clarity to her relationship with the late actor.
