Legendary British singer Elton John has officially confirmed his retirement from touring. The 77-year-old icon revealed in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight that he will never tour again, marking the end of an era for his illustrious career.
Elton John's final show took place last July in Stockholm, Sweden. Reflecting on the conclusion of his farewell tour, he expressed his contentment with the decision. “The last show in Stockholm on the farewell tour after Glastonbury, I got in the car and went, ‘Yes! yes!’ We went out on the biggest high, just the way I wanted to, and there’s no going back [after] that,” he stated.
The farewell tour, which ended early last year, was a monumental success. It brought in $939 million (£749 million) over 328 shows, making it the highest-grossing music tour in history at the time. However, this record was recently surpassed by Taylor Swift’s 'Eras' tour, which earned John $1 billion in revenue.
Elton John's retirement from touring marks the end of a remarkable chapter in music history. Known for his extraordinary talent, flamboyant performances, and timeless hits, his legacy continues to inspire fans and artists worldwide. As he steps away from the touring stage, Elton John leaves behind a lasting impact on the music industry, celebrated for his contributions and memorable performances.
