In a bold move that has set social media ablaze, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has announced his plan to support Nigeria's labour unions in their ongoing strike. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) initiated the strike on Monday, demanding a new minimum wage and a reevaluation of the electricity price hike for certain consumers.
Despite the federal government and labour unions reaching an agreement on a new national minimum wage late Monday, the exact figure remains undisclosed. However, it is expected to surpass the current N60,000 offer from the government, hinting at a potential resolution soon.
Reacting to the situation on Tuesday morning, Charly Boy, never one to shy away from controversy, declared his readiness to mobilize 90% of Nigeria's power bikers for a massive rally in Abuja if the strike continues into next week. Taking to his X handle, he wrote in Pidgin:
"If NLC no f**k up and cancel this strike by next week. I go mobilize 90% of Nigerians Power Bikers. We go storm Abuja, if heaven go fall or the devil go land. We will say, bring it on.
I just don tire. Yeye dey smell.”

Charly Boy's fiery message has galvanized his followers and added a new layer of intensity to the ongoing labour dispute. As the situation develops, all eyes are on Abuja to see if Charly Boy and his army of power bikers will take to the streets in a show of solidarity with the labour unions. One thing is certain: this is a showdown you won't want to miss!
