Amusan secures fourth national championship title.

Tobi Amusan, the reigning world record holder in the Women’s 100m hurdles, continued her dominance in Nigerian athletics by clinching her fourth national title at the ongoing Athletics Federation of Nigeria’s National Trials.

The event took place at the prestigious Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin-City, where Amusan showcased her exceptional speed and skill on Monday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

With a lightning-fast time of 12.78 seconds, Amusan left her competitors in the dust as she crossed the finish line in first place. Adaobi Tabugbo, who put up a strong performance, finished in second place with a time of 13.33 seconds.

Amusan's victory not only solidifies her status as one of Nigeria's top athletes but also serves as a testament to her unwavering dedication and hard work. Her impressive performance at the National Trials is a clear indication of her potential to achieve even greater success on the international stage.

As she continues to break barriers and set new records, Tobi Amusan remains a shining example of excellence in Nigerian athletics. Her remarkable talent and determination have undoubtedly earned her a well-deserved place among the elite athletes of the world.

The AFN will be using the event, which concludes today, (Tuesday) to select athletes for the Paris Olympics, the Africa Championships in Cameroon later this month, and the World U-20 Championship in Lima, Peru from August 27 to 31.

Despite already qualifying for the Olympics, Amusan successfully defended her title in Benin-City with a smooth race.
