Nigerian singer and entertainer Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni, sparked online buzz today with a video she shared of her encounter with socialite Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun, also known as IBD Dende, on a plane.

Taking to her social media handle, Teni posted a video capturing the amusing moment she greeted IBD Dende in a rather unconventional manner. She started by doing a celebratory 360-degree dance, raising her hands in the air.

Following that, she mimicked the gesture of "Area Boys" by raising both hands in the air to pay homage to their leader before finally prostrating to greet him in the traditional Yoruba elder salutation style.

IBD attempted to restrain her, lifting her in the process. In Yoruba, he can be heard asking, "Kilonse?" (what is wrong with her), and later instructing her to "dide" (stand up). Teni also spoke in a hushed tone.

She then embraced him tightly before releasing him. Following that, she performed the Wakanda greeting with both hands crossed over her chest.

IBD Dende, a notable figure in Nigerian social circles, is often associated with wealth and influence. However, he has faced allegations and controversies, particularly concerning his alleged involvement in smuggling activities, as reported by investigative journalist Fisayo Soyombo.

Despite these claims, Dende remains influential in certain circles, commanding respect and attention.

The video has elicited various reactions from netizens regarding Teni's actions. Some have pointed out the contrast between her refusal to shake hands with President Buhari and her prostration for IBD, a figure surrounded by controversy.
