Shan George: VDM Calls OPay and Zenith Bank Out, Petitions The Government To Stop OPay [Video]

Nigerian social media activist, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has spoken out in support of veteran actress Shan George amidst her recent cry for help.

Nollywood Times earlier reported that Shan George had taken to Instagram to reveal that a woman named Cecilia Chiagoziem Okoro had emptied her Zenith Bank account of 3.6 million naira, transferring the money to an OPay account.

In response, VeryDarkMan shared excerpts of Shan George's video and expressed concern about OPay's operations. He highlighted that OPay is operating without BVN requirements, emphasizing the need for OPay to be held accountable by the government. He noted that the missing money cannot be retrieved due to lack of control.

Drawing from personal experience, VeryDarkMan recounted an incident where someone opened a fake OPay account in his name to defraud people on his birthday. He pointed out that opening an OPay account only requires a phone number, raising concerns about potential misuse.

VeryDarkMan expressed sympathy for Shan George, stating that her life savings of 3.6 million naira had been wiped out. He criticized Zenith Bank for allowing someone to withdraw money from Shan George's account, questioning the security measures in place. He suggested that Zenith Bank should compensate Shan George since the money was in their custody.

Directing his message to Zenith Bank chairman Jim Ovia, VeryDarkMan urged him to pay Shan George, emphasizing her legendary status. He warned the public to be cautious of OPay, highlighting the potential for cloning details to create fraudulent accounts.
