In a disturbing video making rounds on social media, a female undergraduate of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education Science and Technology, Ikere in Ekiti State, is seen brutally beating a fellow student with a stick.
Despite the victim's pleas, the assailant can be heard callously saying, "Let me draw blood from you easily or hardly."
The incident, which reportedly occurred on Sunday, was captured on camera by a witness and quickly spread online, sparking outrage. The witness claimed the assault occurred on BOUESTI's campus.
Identified as Ajayi Precious Gloria, the victim is said to have been attacked by a "very popular" Mass Communication student, allegedly a friend of hers.
Disturbingly, the video also shows several onlookers who did not intervene to stop the assault. The motive behind the attack remains unknown.
This incident comes on the heels of a series of bullying cases in Nigerian schools. In April, a video of a female student being bullied at Lead British International School, Abuja, went viral, as did another video involving male students in the school's uniform.
The authorities have yet to comment on the recent incident, but calls for action and justice for the victim are growing on social media.
Stay tuned as we bring you more updates on this developing story.
