Rema and Asake To Headline Promiseland Festival In October 2024 [Image]

The organizers of the three-day festival Promiseland have revealed the lineup for its 2024 edition. Scheduled for the first weekend of October 2024 on the Gold Coast, the event will showcase international artists such as Busta Rhymes, Miguel, and Metro Boomin.

Both Rhymes and Boomin were slated to tour Australia in the past year – Rhymes was set to support TLC on their national tour, which was ultimately canceled, while Metro Boomin was part of the Listen Out and Now & Again festival lineups, both of which were also canceled.

Among the other notable artists on the 79-act lineup are English R&B sensation Jorja Smith, Western Sydney rapper Hooligan Hefs, and a diverse array of Australian talent including Kaiit, Vv Pete, and Youngn Lipz. The full lineup for Promiseland 2024 is detailed below.

Promiseland made its debut in 2022, featuring headline performances by Wyclef Jean and UB40. In 2023, the festival returned with a headline show by Lauryn Hill as part of her world tour commemorating the 25th anniversary of her album "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill."

“My partners… and I had been working on the concept of a specialist festival to cater to Afrobeats, Amapiano, Reggae and R&B for some years,” Promiseland founder Emal Naim said at the time.

“We knew that an event such as Promiseland was badly needed in Australia. “We are now keen to establish Promiseland as a regular event on the Australian music calendar.”

Speaking of Afrobeats, Rema and Asake have been selected to headline the 2024 edition of the event. Also on the list include Nigerian Afrobeats Queen, Tiwa Savage, Omah Lay, Ruger, Shallipopi, BNXN, Victony among others.
