Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, recently shared insights into his success in the entertainment industry, family, and business. Contrary to popular belief, he attributes his achievements not to his wealthy background but to his personal values.

During a guest appearance on the American podcast 'Business Untitled,' Davido revealed that his father owns four power plants that distribute electricity in Nigeria, showcasing the extent of his family's business interests. Additionally, he shared that his partner, Chioma, is involved in the culinary business, and he is currently working on opening a restaurant for her.

He said:

“Me and my family, we own like four power plants worth like a lot of money and we distribute energy to like most of Nigeria. My wife, too she does like culinary stuff and I am trying to start like a restaurant for her... Mainly my main business is, what I love is my music.”

Davido highlighted that while some individuals from wealthier backgrounds have tried to make a mark in entertainment, not all have achieved the level of success he has.
 
In his words:

“There are many billionaires in Nigeria, even richer than my father… And there are people [billionaire’s children] who have tried to do what I have tried to do: music, entertainment, business. But mine has been successful because of my values.” 

“The biggest challenge I had when I started music was that my father is wealthy. But I got accepted for one reason and that reason is that I am good, talented. I don’t think I would have ever been accepted if I wasn’t good at what I do.”
