Socialite Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has reportedly been arrested by operatives of the Lagos Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Bobrisky was allegedly picked up from his Lagos home on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, over accusations of currency mutilation and abuse of the Naira.

The EFCC has detained Bobrisky over allegations of abuse of the Naira, including spraying of Naira notes and currency mutilation. Bobrisky, who has been involved in several controversies in recent weeks, was arrested in Lagos on Wednesday night and is currently held at the Lagos Command of the EFCC.
In a telephone interview with our correspondent on Thursday, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed Bobrisky's arrest and stated that he would be charged to court.
Oyewale said, “Bobrisky is with us. He was arrested last night in Lagos, and he is at our Lagos command. We arrested him for alleged abuse of naira notes, spraying of nara notes, and currency mutilation, among others.
“We are very serious about restoring the dignity of the naira. Though our investigation is still ongoing, but he will definitely be charged to court soon.”
