Morayo: Wizkid Names New Album After His Late Mother, Sends Stern Warning to Media Companies

Grammy-Award winner Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known professionally as Wizkid, has officially announced the title of his highly anticipated forthcoming album.

The singer revealed the name of the album through the insta-stories section of his verified Instagram page on Friday night, March 15th, 2024.

This announcement follows a viral post where the "Bad To Me" crooner declared that he is no longer an Afrobeats artist and advised fans of the genre not to bother downloading his upcoming album.

Giving more insight into the album, Wizkid disclosed that the new album will be named after his late mother, (Mrs) Juliana Morayo Balogun. His mother passed away on August 18, 2023, in London, an event that Wizkid described as the deepest pain he has ever felt, leaving a void in him.

In his recent Instagram post, Wizkid revealed that his new album will be titled "Morayo," stating that it will be his best work yet. He also specified that Nigerian blogs or media outlets should not post his forthcoming album "Morayo," and concluded by derisively referring to the fathers of each media company in Nigeria with the phrase "Una Papa."

Wizkid wrote; “Album name “”Morayo”” best I ever made.”
