After capturing Nigerian hearts for 13 years, "The Johnsons" is set to bid farewell in May 2024, marking the end of a beloved sitcom that has made a lasting impact on Nigerian television.

Rogers Ofime, the producer of "The Johnsons," announced the end of the series on Instagram, reflecting on its 13-year journey that has resonated with audiences nationwide. The sitcom, which premiered in 2012, has been praised for its unique portrayal of an average Nigerian family in Lagos, navigating life's challenges.

Starring veteran actors like Charles Inojie, Chinedu Ikedieze, and the late Ada Ameh, along with a talented ensemble cast, "The Johnsons" has become a cherished staple on Africa Magic. As the show concludes, Ofime expresses gratitude for the talented actors who brought the characters to life and invites fans to join in celebrating its legacy.

Speaking on the development, the series showrunner shared, “I stand in awe of what God has done. 'The Johnsons' took a chance, believed in what we had, and dared to be unique, a beacon to families nationwide, bringing your home to you on TV."

Rogers Ofime's journey into television production began in 2001, and he has since played a pivotal role in the creation of successful projects, including "Tinsel," one of Africa's most popular television series. His commitment to excellence and bridging the gap between Africa and the global film industry has earned him recognition as a pioneering force in African television production.

"The Johnsons," a popular family sitcom, humorously yet relatably portrays the struggles of a typical Nigerian household. Led by Efe Johnson (Chinedu Ikedieze), the series imparts valuable life lessons while exploring themes of financial responsibility, academic diligence, and family dynamics.

As "The Johnsons" prepares for its season finale in May, it leaves behind a legacy that has etched its place in the Nigerian television cable era.
