As the stage is set for the premiere of a new epic Telenovela Series on Showmax, Esteemed filmmaker James Omokwe did not hide his excitement about the upcoming show.

The producer is set to make a triumphant return to Showmax with this latest creation, an epic drama series titled "Cheta M." This 130-episode saga unfolds a riveting love story between Adanna and Nnanna, two young lovers grappling with spiritual and political challenges obstructing their path.

The narrative unfolds against the backdrop of heightened tensions between the kingdoms of Mgberi and Ajaani. Adanna and Nnanna must confront a world rife with political intrigue, spiritual interference, and manipulation of memories as they strive to protect their love. Ojigijaga, the spiritual shaman of Mgberi, poses a formidable hurdle to their union, surrounded by lies, secrets, murder, blackmail, and uncertainty.

The stellar cast features Oluchi Amajuoyi and Kingsley Nwachukwu in the lead roles of Adanna and Nnanna. Ruby Okezie, known for her role in "Far From Home," portrays Mmesomma, while Kalu Ikeagwu embodies Jideofor, the leader of Ajaani. Nonso Odogwu takes on the role of Ezeugo, a pivotal character in the series.

James Omokwe, renowned for his previous telenovelas like "Ajoche," "Riona," and "Itura," and the producer of Showmax's first limited drama series, "Diiche," serves as both producer and one of the directors for "Cheta M." Created by Ifeanyi Barbara Chidi, the series promises a captivating blend of love, desire, and mystery.

Expressing his anticipation for the series premiere, Omokwe shared, "Cheta M is one of our best shows so far. It radiates beauty on all levels. Each time I sit down in post-production, I am in awe of the marvel that is Cheta M.

"There is a deep sense of emotion in all the story threads of the show. Each character, on their journey to finding themselves, finding love, losing it and even clamouring for revenge, is part and parcel of why I love the show. This time, we have taken you on an alluring epic journey to the east. It is a beautiful story of love, desire and mystery."
