In the wake of the 66th Grammy Awards, where South African artist Tyla secured victory in the inaugural Best African Music Performance category, Nigerian sensations Davido and Ayra Starr have taken to their social media platforms to extend heartfelt congratulations.

Despite the disappointment of not clinching the coveted award themselves, Davido and Ayra Starr exhibited gracious sportsmanship by acknowledging Tyla's historic win. The Grammy-nominated Nigerian artists, along with Burna Boy, Asake, and Olamide, were unable to secure the gramophone trophy in the category.

Undeterred by the outcome, Davido and Ayra Starr chose to celebrate Tyla's accomplishment, showcasing camaraderie and support within the African music community.

Their congratulatory messages on social media reflect not only their professionalism but also their recognition of the significance of Tyla's triumph at the prestigious music awards ceremony on Sunday night.

“Congratulations on your win @Tyllaaaaaaa ! Big One for Africa! Keep soaring!,” Davido wrote on his X page.

On her X handle on Monday morning, Ayra Starr wrote: “Congratulations to my babessssss @Tyllaaaaaaa.”

Before Tyla's historic victory at the 66th Grammys in the Best African Music Performance category, the South African singer and Nigerian sensation Ayra Starr had already shared a musical connection.

The two artists previously collaborated on the hit song 'Girl Next Door,' a testament to their cross-cultural collaboration and shared musical prowess.

Additionally, in a pre-award ceremony interview, Ayra Starr revealed that she had taken a proactive approach by preparing her Grammy acceptance speech.
