In a notable recognition of Nigerian talent, three prominent Afrobeats artists, Burna Boy, Asake, and Rema, have earned nominations for the prestigious BRIT Awards.

Burna Boy and Asake find themselves in the International Artist of the Year category, while Rema's hit track 'Calm Down' secured a nomination in the highly sought-after International Song of the Year category.

Competing against global superstars in the International Artist of the Year category, including SZA, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey, CMAT, and Caroline Polachek, Burna Boy and Asake showcase the growing influence of Nigerian music on the international stage.

Rema's 'Calm Down' will contend in the International Song of the Year category against other global hits, such as Billie Eilish's 'What Was I Made For,' Doja Cat's 'Paint The Town Red,' Miley Cyrus' 'Flowers,' SZA's 'Kill Bill,' Libianca's 'People,' and Tyla's 'Water' from South Africa.

The BRIT Awards ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, March 2, 2024, on ITV1 and ITVX, with Raye leading the nominations with a remarkable seven nods, setting a new record for the most nominations in a single year. This recognition underscores the growing impact of African and Nigerian music on the global stage.
