Mr Eazi Credits 2BABA and Beenie Man for Inspiring "Zagadat" Catchphrase

Famous singer and entrepreneur Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has opened up about the inspiration behind his catchy catchphrase "Zagadat."

According to Mr Eazi, the iconic line was inspired by lyrics from the remix of 2BABA's 'Nfana Ibaga,' which featured Jamaican dancehall star Beenie Man.

In an interview with Capital Xtra, UK, Mr Eazi acknowledged the influence of 2BABA and Beenie Man on his creative expression.

He explained that although "Zagadat" is part of the lyrics in the remix, he didn't use it the same way it was said in the song, preventing any potential copyright issues.

He said, “Big shout out to Beenie Man. Beenie Man and 2Face. I got my catchphrase ‘Zagadat’ from their song ‘Nfana Ibaga’ remix. From the part, ‘And the Lord said let there be light. Zagazaga za.’ That’s where it’s from, bro.

“I don’t have to give them royalties because I said, ‘Zagadat.’ I didn’t say, Zagagaza za.”
