Jaiye Kuti Claims 85% of Married Women Contemplate Leaving Their Marriages

Nollywood actress Jaiye Kuti has made a bold statement, asserting that 85 percent of married women entertain thoughts of leaving their marriages.

In an interview with Gistzlife, the actress shared her personal experience, disclosing that she herself had attempted to exit her marriage three times but found herself ultimately staying in it.

According to Kuti, the period after marriage allows couples to gain a deeper understanding of each other compared to their dating phase. She emphasized that this deeper knowledge can lead to marital challenges, contributing to the contemplation of divorce by many married women.

Additionally, the actress pointed out men's egocentric tendencies and the urge to cheat as significant factors that prompt women to consider ending their marriages.

“If you ask a hundred women, 85% want to exit their marriage. I even tried to leave thrice. The problem is that when you marry someone from a different culture, people start to reveal their actual selves. A man would treat and pamper a woman when he wanted to get married, but when a second marriage and kids are involved, things go too far. Men can also have egotistical tendencies and are unstoppable when it comes to cheating.”
