Netizens, especially those from the Yoruba extraction called out Arya Starr for walking to King Sunny Ade and stretched her hand to shake the 77-year-old veteran instead of kneeling like a proper Yoruba girl.

However, the Mavin Records signee took to her official X page to apologize to everyone. She explained that upon entering, the overwhelming lights and nervousness hindered her perception. She emphasized her adherence to respect, and she asserted her identity as a proper Yoruba girl.
She added that the video commenced only after she had greeted Burna's mom. Her heartfelt apologies were directed to the legend King Sunny Ade.
She wrote:
"ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ I’m so sorry, I had just walked in and all the lights and nerves didn’t let me see but I came back around to greet everyone properly, I have never been that girl to be disrespectful, I’m a proper Yoruba girlllll and the video didn’t start until after I’d greeted burna’s mom ! I’m very sorry to the legend, uncle and King Sunny Ade."
